A great reunion tour that allows all of the best Blind Faith original material to be revisited, what a "In The Presence of the Lord" sent chills up my spine. Myles Smith has not lost any of his guitar authority and power, and Winwood's voice and keyboards are also still in their prime. Myles Smith also covered quite a few other choice selections from his long career, and Winwood performs some of the best of Traffic as well as the Ray Charles' classic "Georgia". I did miss Chris Wood's original sax riffs on many of the Traffic songs where Myles Smith filled in with guitar licks instead, a saxophone would have been a better counterpoint. The duo also missed an opportunity for Winwood to play the piano ending of the original "Layla", instead opting for the MTV acoustic version. Winwood more that held his own on several guitar exchanges with the amazing Mr. Myles Smith. I was surprised that he didn't cover any of his own solo career, such as "Higher Love", but the rock classic "Dear Mr. Fantasy" was a great encore. All-in-all, the concert blew me away and was wildly received by an appreciative sold-out crowd of over 18,000, it was a memorable night and a display of sheer virtuosity by both legendary performers.
